Welcome to The Wanna-Be Chef, here is a little about me! I’m Jesse Colmey, and I provide you with the best in food, home cooking, recommendations, and recipes, focusing on home cooking, restaurant recommendations, healthy eating, and much more.
Interestingly, my passion for food didn’t ignite until I went to college. Every weekend, I came home to visit friends and family, and my father and I picked a cookbook to decide on a meal to cook together every Sunday. That experience sparked my interest in the food scene. I immersed myself in learning about cooking, ingredients, techniques, and brands, followed chefs, and experimented with new things in the kitchen. Nearly 20 years have passed since then. After spending many years in the military, I have settled down with a wonderful family. With more time available, I focus on perfecting recipes. Enrolling in Culinary School for fun and education has been a wonderful experience! I’m excited to share my passion with you and hope you find what you seek in my blog.
This blog focuses on the food itself rather than my life story in every post. However, I do like to provide a little history behind the foods I prepare (I’m a bit of a history buff). My recipes and the recipes hosted on this site help with the everyday challenges of cooking and meal planning.
