Did you know how easy it is to make homemade salsa! You probably have all the ingredients in your pantry already. We love making salsa at home and with this copycat Pace Picante sauce you won’t miss buying it at the store. We put salsa on everything from eggs, tacos, chicken, and of course who doesn’t love some chips and salsa!

This recipe takes a few ingredients that you might just have lying around and turns it into a flavorful condiment that is super simple to make. The best part about this recipe is that you can customize it however you want. Want it a little thicker, add a can of diced tomatoes, want it a little spicier, why not a serrano or habanero, why not add some fire roasted tomatoes! This base homemade salsa tastes just like the real thing but make it your own! Next time you have guests over bring out this salsa and impress them with your culinary skills (we won’t tell them how easy it was).

What You’ll Need

  • 3Qt Saucepan
  • Stirring device
  • Crushed tomatoes
  • Water
  • Onion
  • Jalapenos
  • Vinegar
  • Minced dried onion
  • Garlic Powder
  • salt

Start by dicing up a medium onion. Dice the jalapenos and either discard the seeds for more of a mild salsa or keep them in for that medium kick. Throw the rest of the ingredients in the pan on medium/high heat and bring it to a boil. Once the the salsa is boiling reduce to low and simmer for about 30 minutes. Take it off the heat and let it cool. Can’t be easier than that right! Store it in an airtight container like one of these mason jars and you are good to go! I love the versatility of this recipe.
